Flexible gel adhesive for ceramic tiles - GREINPLAST P405G. Multifunctional gel adhesive with increased strength parameters and increased flexibility for bonding porcelain stoneware, ceramics, and natural stone. The product is classified as thin-set, frost- and water-resistant cement adhesive mortar type C2TE with improved strength parameters. The adhesive is based on high-quality mineral binders, polymers, and the addition of silica gel, which adapts the consistency of the mortar to the most demanding conditions. In the mixing process, it is possible to obtain any consistency, both semi-liquid, which facilitates tiling work on floors, and standard, which is ideal for use on vertical surfaces. In addition, silica gel has the ability to accumulate water and release it during the setting process, ensuring proper hydration of the cement throughout the entire setting process and significantly increasing the mechanical parameters of the adhesive. The selection of carefully selected fillers and a thickening system allows for very easy handling of the product, making it extremely light and convenient to apply. The product uses both the highest quality cementitious and polymeric binders, which not only create a strong bond between the substrate and the tile but also enable the creation of a durable finish with an above-average lifespan.
Preparing the substrate: The substrate must be level, sound, strong, and free from any material which could inhibit adhesion. Standard substrates, including traditional rendering and cement floors, require no special pre-treatment, although they need to have been cured for a minimum of 28 days
(60 days for concrete substrates). Non-uniform substrates with areas of varying or increased absorbability must be primed with a suitably diluted GREINPLAST primer, at least 4 hours before bonding the tiles.
Preparing the adhesive mortar: Add the packaging contents (25 kg) to approx. 7 litres of clean water. Next, stir vigorously until a uniform lump-free mixture is obtained. Leave the mixed mortar to stand for 5 minutes (for the polymers to dissolve and gel to activate). Next, stir again.
Bonding the tiles: Spread the prepared adhesive mortar onto the substrate with a notched trowel of a suitable size. Next, apply the tiles to the spread adhesive by pressing them down. If the prepared adhesive is past its pot life and does not bind the tiles, remove it and reapply a fresh portion. Apply the adhesive dosage per tile so that it adheres to at least 65% of the tile surface. The adhesive coverage per tile must be 100% in outdoor applications. Adhesively bonded flooring can be loaded with normal traffic after 48 hours from bonding.
The substrate and ambient temperature during work and drying of the adhesive should be between +5°C and +30°C. The optimum temperature during application is +20°C. The maximum thickness of the adhesive should be about 12 mm. Under the influence of unfavourable heat and humidity conditions, the specified setting times change considerably. Perform pointing of the tiles after the adhesive has dried completely, not earlier than after 48 h. Otherwise, the joint grout may become discoloured. Clean all tools with water directly after use. The packaging labels provide specifications for the optimum application of the product; no liability of the product manufacturer shall be assumed from the packaging labels, as the processing and application conditions are beyond its reasonable control. Do not modify the composition of this product, as it may significantly reduce its quality.
